We applied for 3 different grants in the last half of 2022 and found out we were award one in January 2023.  Our budget for the 2023-2024 school year is set and we'll start sourcing new books in June!  

We have donated 2,021 books to teachers this school year and are on our way towards 10,000 books donated since fall 2018! 

We started 2023 off with a bang  and donated 177 books to teachers in the month of January.  If you are keeping track, we have donated 1,690 books to teachers in the 2022-2023 school year and 9,046 books since fall 2018.

We closed out the 2021-2022 school year by donating 3,378 books to 109 teachers.  We will start all over again in July!  See us on Facebook for updates.

As of today, we have donated 3,201 books to teachers in our area!  This total is from July 2021 to February 25, 2022.  It's simply unbelievable to me that my tiny organization has given away thousands of books this school year.  

We closed the year by donating another 2,816 books.  I didn't keep a separate total from January 2021 to May 2021 so I don't have total for the year 2021.  We have donated 7,054 books since 2018 and we will be on track to donate over 3,000 books for the 2021-2022 school year.  I think that is pretty amazing.  Thank you for all the support.  

My secret super power is fundraising!  I'm not afraid to ask my community for MONEY - whether for PTO, Booster Clubs, my own nonprofit!  Sure it's a little uncomfortable but fundraising has to be done!  Nonprofits can't run without money.  
All that being said, sometimes I don't want to do it or it feels overwhelming to ask for more money.  

We ran out of books to fill our last round of applications so we had to begin our fundraising campaign early.  An amazing thing happened.  In addition to having a successful Facebook fundraiser, we received 100s of books from our community, an offer of new books from a foundation and a monetary donation from a different foundation.  Just when I thought I might give up, I received a sign to keep on plugging along.  Thank you to everyone for your continued support.  I keep saying it takes a village to do just about anything but I believe it.
